A Schodack man is charged for growing marijuana inside his home, according to the New York State Police.
Christopher McCauley, 28, was wanted on an unrelated charge in Albany County so Troopers called him and met him at his home in Schodack. During the interviewing with McCauley, Troopers detected an odor from inside the home, got a search warrant and went in to find a marijuana growing operation in the basement, police said. A package of marijuana was also found in both the kitchen and basement, authorities said.
McCauley was arrested for Criminal Possession of Marijuana (4th Degree), Unlawfully Growing Cannabis and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, who is 8 years old. McCauley posted $500 bail and was released and is due back in Schodack town court on March 5.
